The model for this volume is the common Church Slavonic Psalter (the "Liturgical" or "Sequential" Psalter), which presents didactic material and the Psalms themselves as a book to be used in private and liturgical prayer. The numbering of the Psalms conforms to the Septuagint, with occasional diacritics and accents to enforce the intended poetic meter.
